The home page is the Key Explorer: choose a key, inspect its chords and build a progression immediately. The main navigation opens the fretboard, capo advisor, identifier, tuner and metronome; More contains the remaining tools.

Open Setup to change tuning, capo, handedness, chord form and playback preferences. Musical state is kept in the URL, so copying a link reproduces that view.

Visit the site online first, then use your browser's install or Add to Home Screen action when it is available. The production app registers an offline service worker after the page loads; installation and updates still require a connection.

After the app shell has been cached, the core routes remain usable without a network. Activity performed entirely offline is not queued or replayed to production Web Analytics.

Playback starts only after you press a play control. If buttons are disabled, use the header's Sound off control to turn sound back on.

The tuner and microphone-assisted exercises request access only after you press their start control. Microphone audio is analysed on the device, is not recorded and is not sent off-device. If access was blocked, allow it in the browser's site settings and reload. Microphone access requires HTTPS on a phone or deployed site.

Saved songs, set lists, progressions, tunings, practice data and preferences save in this browser first. Optional Pro sync copies selected authored collections between connected devices; appearance and device settings remain local.

In Setup → Your data, export a JSON backup before clearing data or moving devices. Import validates the file, asks for confirmation and replaces the supported saved library. Manual export remains the independent recovery path even when sync is connected.

Use the export or print controls on the progression, worksheet, song and set-list surfaces. Their print views remove app controls and format the musical content for paper. A browser's print dialog can also save the result as PDF when that browser offers the option.

A Pro owner can publish a deliberate copy of a rehearsal set from Band workspaces. Editors need Pro to publish; invited viewers can read, pin, download and print the shared copy without access to the owner's private library.

Pin a workspace before rehearsal for offline use. Publishing rejects a stale revision instead of overwriting a bandmate's work. Member removal stops later online access but cannot remotely erase an already-downloaded copy.

Teacher Studio is a Pro workspace for alias-only student handoffs. Use a nickname or initials and random return metadata; no student email, age, school, parent contact or microphone recording is collected.

Students see only assignments published to their alias. Offline work stays local until the student reviews bounded results and explicitly chooses Submit to teacher. Deleting an alias removes its assignments, submissions and private notes while leaving unrelated practice history alone.

From Set lists, choose Prepare show & Perform to freeze the exact running order and song text before going on stage. Preflight reports missing offline content, sound state and conflicts. A reload offers a safe resume action without starting audio or scrolling.

PageUp/PageDown work with keyboard-style Bluetooth pedals. Remap and test controls inside stage mode; mappings stay on that device. Web MIDI and Wake Lock begin only after their buttons are pressed and degrade honestly when unsupported. Export a standby copy or confirmed handoff before changing devices, and keep the printable sheet as the immediate fallback.

A gated preview can pair one bounded controller and read-only companion displays with a frozen show. The stage device stays authoritative and keeps running through a disconnect; reconnecting never replays old commands.

The preview is not enabled in production until real phones, tablets and laptops pass the transport, failure, security and cost release matrix. Keep the local pedal controls, standby copy and paper set as the performance fallback.

Practice programs are authored, versioned lessons that connect to the existing free trainers. Everyone can open the complete free sample without Pro. Eligible Pro users can download selected programs for offline use; each download shows its version, size, author and rights record.

Completion and notes are saved on this device and can be completed without a network. Losing Pro stops new downloads and updates, but does not remotely erase an offline copy or the player's own completion history. A newer version is installed only after its manifest and checksums pass; an interrupted or invalid update keeps the last usable version.

Import accepts supported text or ChordPro files, Barre None backups and rehearsal packs, a documented CSV, and source PDF or image attachments. A batch is always previewed first: review duplicates, conflicts and unsupported files, download a rollback backup, confirm that you have permission to use the material, then commit the accepted local records.

Installed browsers may offer Barre None as a share target. Shared text and files are staged only in local browser storage under a one-time handle, expire if abandoned, and are deleted from the inbox after preview. Nothing is uploaded merely because it was shared. Active Pro accounts may explicitly upload supported private assets within the displayed 1 GiB and 1,000-asset allowance; the original source remains downloadable until explicitly deleted.

Living charts keep portable ChordPro or plain text beside stable section and line markers. Everyone can use the complete original sample. Pro users can attach audio they are allowed to use, confirm section starts, refine line markers, and save named practice loops.

Playback never starts merely because a chart or show opens. Confirmed times stay exact; interpolated positions are labelled, and a source edit that cannot be matched safely becomes a visible repair task. Download the selected chart and authorized recording for offline rehearsal, or export and delete the original media and chart data explicitly.

Pro owners can create a solo or workspace-linked event, request availability, freeze a reviewed set revision and export a calendar file. Invited free viewers can read and respond without seeing the owner's private library.

Use Prepare show to download the exact event and frozen set for offline preflight. Editing the live set later never changes that event silently; meaningful published changes require a new acknowledgement. Invitations and reminders contain only minimal metadata and expiring one-use response links.
